South Florida Bass Fishing

The last few weeks of largemouth bass fishing in South Florida has been good considering the cooler weather we've been having. On Tuesday Dec. 9, we were fishing alligator alley and boated about 70 bass mostly on the small side but definately fun. Each time out we've been able to catch fish upwards of 5 lbs. though. Every fish we caught happened to be on plastic worms and homemade worms that I mold. As the water continues to drop along with these cooler water temperatures should drive bass towards spawning. The fun of fishing South Florida is coming early this year and it should be fantastic starting any day now. For more information on fishing the Ft. lauderdale or Miami areas for peacock bass or largemouth click these links at www.southfloridafishing.org or www.amazonpeacockbassfishing.net . South Florida Peacock Bass

Bass fishing and Peacock Bass are hitting pretty well considering the cooler weather we've been having at night. Water levels will be dropping in the Everglades and the Miami canals creating good opportunities for both species. On Tuesday we had Heather & Tim Gray in Miami in the C-100 and the couple landed 7 nice fish up to 4 lbs. all on shiners. As the winter progresses these bigger male peacock bass will start to prepare for the spawn soon. As long as the water remains warm the season should be fantastic. South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing

Jim Boone from Birmingham, Alabama and I were out peacock bass fishing on Friday. This time of year peacock bass fishing can be good or bad but lately is been great. Water levels and temperatures can be tricky because peacock bass love hot water. It really depends on how hot the South Florida weather is. Today we just had a cold front come through dropping the nighttime temperatures into the low 50's. It usually only takes a few days for these fish to start biting again. Mr. Boone landed 13 peacock bass in a half-day trip up to 4 3/4 lbs. all on live bait. For booking a trip with South Florida Fishing Adventures or questions about our guide service e-mail me at floridafishing@bellsouth.net or give us a call at (954) 445-1811.

South Florida Bass Fishing 11-12-08

The Everglades of the Ft. Lauderdale area are starting to produce some good largemouth bass fishing. Today Capt. Victor and I were out for about four hours and boated about 20 small largemouth with one nice 5 lb. bass. The South Florida's Everglades are quite high after almost record summer rains but should start dropping quickly now that the rainy season is over. This nice bass was caught on a worm deep off the drop off ledge. For more bass fishing or peacock bass fishing information or a guided trip e-mail me at floridafishing@bellsouth.net or call us at (954) 445-1811.

South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing 11-2-08

Peacock bass fishing this week in South Florida has been good considering the colder weather we've had. On Wednesday night it dropped down into the low 50's which peacock bass don't like. Water temperatures below 60 degrees will kill peacocks. Carl Gaudins and I were out on Saturday and we boated 7 peacock bass up to 4 lbs. We noticed a couple big male fish courting females, which is unusual at this time of the year. For more information e-mail us at floridafishing@bellsouth.net for largemouth bass fishing or peacock bass guided trips.

South Florida Peacock Bass 10-25-08

Peacock Bass fishing in South Florida is picking up and should stay good now that the rainy season is ending. On Saturday we had a guide trip in the C-100 canal of south Miami and landed 12 nice fish with two over 4 lbs. Water levels are dropping and cleaning up meaning fishing will continue to improve. Lake Okeechobee water levels are up which will help make for a great winter bass fishing season on the lake. The Everglades bass fishing is still tough in certain areas and better in others. Experimenting by trying different conservation areas will help you locate the best spots. South Florida Bass Fishing 8-8-08

While out peacock bass fishing in a canal of South Florida on Wednesday a young man pulled up along side us to ask if we had a scale to weigh this beautiful largemouth bass that weighed in at over 10 lbs. He also only had a camera phone with low resolution so we were able to get a few great pictures for his trophy big Bass. These canals of South Florida around the Miami & Ft. Lauderdale area are full of huge Largemouth Bass & Peacock Bass that are rarely caught. For more information on fishing in Florida e-mail me at floridafishing@bellsouth.net or call us at (954) 445-1811. South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing

Fishing for peacock bass in South Florida in July & August has been wonderful despite unbearable hot air and water temperatures. The rain has also dirtied up the canals in most places but it usually only lasts about two to three days. Yesterday in Miami we had a trip with Scott Eynon and his son Steven. The guys landed 16 peacock bass in about 6 hours of fishing, that's real good for this time of year. Scott missed a real big one! For information on Everglades bass fishing or Lake Okeechobee contact us by e-mail at floridafishing@bellsouth.net . Peacock bass fishing should stay good through out the summer and we guide full-time everyday. Call us also at (954) 445-1811.

South Florida Peacock Bass 7-24-08

It continues to be awesome fishing for peacock bass in South Florida this week. We were out twice on Tuesday and Thursday. Ed Cohn and I were in South Miami for a half-day fishing before thunderstorms chased us off the water, but before heading home Ed had boated 12 peacock bass up to 4 1/4 lbs. for his first time ever peacock fishing. Every fish Ed caught was on small shiners and I boated one on a lure. For more information on South Florida peacock bass fishing e-mail me at floridafishing@bellsouth.net . South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing 7-22-08

Miami is still quite good now for Peacock Bass fishing even though it is incredibly hot and rainy. We were out today in the C-100 canal in a suburb of Miami called Pinecrest. Luis and I fished until 2:30 in the afternoon before the thunderstorms chased us off the water. We boated 22 butterfly peacock basas up to 6 lbs. with live bait and artificial lures. Peacock Bass fishing in South Florida remains awesome with this beautiful 7 1/4 lb. caught by Paul Goubert and his father Dave from Davie, Florida. The guys landed 15 peacocks for a half-day trip in Miami yesterday despite threatening weather. Paul's 7 1/4 lber. is a new record for us as a guide service for peacock bass. The fishing is still quite good considering the rainy weather we've been having. It's still good fishing for South Florida Peacock Bass in Miami this week. Today Dan Paszynski and I were out in Miami and boated 26 peacocks with nice 5 1/2 lb. trophy that Dan caught. He also boated two more over 4 lbs. to make this an awesome day indeed! Dan caught all his fish on shiners while I used jigs. It's raining heavily now almost daily which good hinder fishing if they continue to pump the canals to much. But for now book a trip to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami and enjoy the only place in the U.S. to catch these beautiful butterfly peacock bass. We also guide in the Florida Everglades and Lake Okeechobee for largemouth bass. For information on any of these trips contact South Florida Fishing Adventures or Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing. South Florida Bass Fishing 6-14-08

Bernard Washington and I were out for a half-day everglades bass fishing trip on Saturday dodging lightning bolts but managed 20 bass to 5 lbs. South Florida bass fishing should slow down now that the rain is finally here. It's been coming down hard for the last week or so which should continue for the rest of the summer making fishing much tougher. For more information or booking contact us at South Florida Fishing Adventures and Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing Florida

South Florida Bass Fishing 6-9-08

Jim Kientzy and his brother-in-law Dwayne were out on Monday in the South Florida Everglades bass fishing with us. The guys landed 45 largemouth bass up to 3 lbs. That's small for this time of year but the rain has finally come and has slowed the bass fishing down somewhat now. Each year the process repeats itself like clock work. On Friday night June 13th a night tournament out of Holiday Park was won with only 22 pounds, we usually can catch that in the daytime! After that weight the bags went way down which is quite unusual for night fishing for bass in the South Florida Everglades. South Florida Peacock Bass

Lowell and I tried snapper creek canal system today which connects tothe C-4 Miami airport system. It's also loaded with great fishing for both peacock bass & largemouth bass, snook and tarpon. Over two days of peacock bass fishing Mr. Shapley had a blast landing 57 peacocks himself with me only 10? He is a taxidermist mostly mounting birds but I think he's considering other ideas now after his trophy 5 lber he caught the day before! Here's a great picture of a double hook up we had yesterday. Check out South Florida Fishing Adventures and Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing Florida for booking and other fishing reports on fishing in South Florida.

South Florida Peacock Bass

It's going to be a great week peacock bass fishing in South Florida around the Miami canal system. Today Lowell Shapley from Houston boated 30 peacock bass up to 5 lbs. It's his first day of two fishing for peacocks and he can't wait until tomorrow. We'll be heading back south again tomorrow to try and area I haven't fished this year. I'm sure we'll get them good again. For more information check out South Florida Fishing Adventures or Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing Florida.

South Florida Bass Fishing 5-27-08

South Florida bass fishing for numbers is no better anywhere! The Everglades catch rate they say is 1.4 bass per hour. How does 12 or 13 per hour sound! That's the average we had on Tuesday May 27th landing 64 bass in just 5 hours plus many more missed. The Ft. Lauderdale area for largemouth bass between March and July is the best on the planet for total numbers of largemouth bass caught. The peacock bass fishing is also great as the water gets hotter like is right now. For more South Florida Bass fishing information click on these two links, Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing.

South Florida Bass Fishing 5-20-08

It's still great fishing in the South Florida Everglades this week. Today we were out somewhere in the everglades catching fish on artificial lures and not shiners. It was 76 largemouth bass with the biggest on the small side today and only about 2 1/2 lbs. We seen many larger fish swirl up on our lures but turn away at the last minute. The key is very long casts but with the wind blowing 25 mph all day that made it difficult. If we caught every bass we saw today I'm estimating upwards of 150 or more bass. It's fantastic right now and I haven't even tried shiners yet like some others I know, because that's all they can catch them on. Water levels are still dropping and heating up which should get the night fishing going real good also. For more on information on South Florida Fishing click here and you'll be directed to great information on current peacock bass and largemouth bass fishing reports. South Florida Bass Fishing Report 5-13-08

Today we were out in the South Florida Everglades bass fishing. Yesterday a mild spring cold front came in with high winds which is causing many wild fires through out Florida. But today the wind was low and no clouds either to put a chop on the water which made fishing slightly tougher. We still managed to land 33 bass up to 4 pounds. The bait of choice is still plastic style lures. We can't tell anybody exactly what we are using because of a certain guide service who likes to copy everything we do! We've changed the look of the web blog home page to not be copied again. Anyway if largemouth bass or peacock bass fishing interests you click on any of our websites in the side blogroll to the lower right. The canals in the South Florida Everglades right now are producing quite well and should continue for the next month or so.

South Florida Peacock Bass Report 5-7-08

Greg Plano and friend Ken from the University of Miami professor department were out with me yesterday in Miami for Peacock bass for a half-day. We landed 15 peacocks in a few hours before the heat was too intense. Here is a nice picture of a double the guys boated. They used shiners to catch all their fish in Miami. With the water levels coming down because of very little rain the fishing in the Miami & Ft. Lauderdale canals for largemouth bass and peacock bass with continue to be great.

South Florida Bass Fishing Reports 5-7-08

We've been out in the South Florida everglades and Miami for largemouth bass & peacock bass three times this week. On Saturday in the everglades we caught over 60 bass up to 3 3/4 lbs. and in Miami the peacock bass fishing is great. Yesterday we boated 15 peacocks up to 3 lbs. on a half-day trip. As the water heats up the levels will drop which creates even better bass fishing in the everglades. Peacock bass fishing should stay good until the late summer rains cause some oxygen problems.

Today and all week Miami for Peacock Bass has been good. Scott Jungmichael and his friend Chris from Texas had the best peacock bass fishing in there life. Scott landed his trophy at 5 lbs. and Chris boated big daddy at 6 lbs. Nice fish guys and tomorrow it's off to the South Florida Everglades for this great largemouth bass fishery where we've been catching so many I'm getting worn out!

South Florida Bass Fishing 5-1-08

It continues to be fantastic South Florida Everglades Bass fishing. Today we finished two days of bass fishing and boated about 175 largemouth up to 6 lbs. It's been nothing short of a miracle. Hugh today had big fish at 4 lbs. and yesterday caught the biggest of his life at 6 lbs. All our fish have been caught on lures and not shiners. It's only getting better each day also as the water will continue to drop creating the best fishing in Florida and the country as far as numbers are concerned!!

South Florida Bass Fishing 4-30-08

South Florida bass fishing in the Everglades is just great right now and getting better daily. Today the Spegiel's for Tennessee had the bass fishing day of their lives! Hugh caught his biggest ever at 6 lbs. and his wife did quite well herself. We boated about 90 bass which I may have been off by a few, maybe a few short actually. I think we had at least 5 or 6 at 3 to 4 lbs. also and a few bigger ones to boot that got away! Fishing to some guide services is slow right now so choose your guides wisely. Check out http://www.southfloridafishing,org/ and http://www.amazonpeacockbassfishing.net/ to find out more information on fishing in the Miami or Ft. Lauderdale areas of Florida.

South Florida Bass Fishing 4-25-08

Bass fishing in the Florida everglades is still hot and getting better daily. Water levels are dropping and the largemouth are coming out to the drop-offs and edges. Patience and wind or clouds will increase your chances for big fish and numbers. We caught 45 bass to 4 lbs. Wednesday April 23rd all on plastic baits out on alligator alley.

South Florida Bass Fishing 4-21-08

Bass fishing in the South Florida Everglades continues to be great. Yesterday Jim Reed and his friend Barry were out and boated 68 largemouth bass to 4 lbs. with many more missed. We could have had well over 100 bass if we were on our game! The water levels are dropping now that the rain has slowed down which means more and bigger bass within the next couple weeks. South Florida Everglades Bass Fishing Reports 4-15-08

They are still biting in the Florida Everglades. Yesterday evening we were out for 4 short hours until the temperatures dropped to the high 50's in April? This is very unusual for this time of year. But despite cooler temperatures the bass are still hitting quite well. In less than 4 hours we boated 22 bass up to 3 lbs. and missed quite a few as well. The water is still high and will remain that way because with Lake Okeechobee being too low the water management department hasn't the nerve to lower the Everglades. Largemouth bass fishing remains good in a few certain areas and knowing where is the secret along with only a few baits working with any consistancy.

South Florida Bass Fishing 4-12-08

It just continues to be productive largemouth bass fishing for South Florida despite rainy weather which is unusual for this time of year. Today Ryan Benson and his buddy Scott showed up a little beat up from the night before. To be young again, but they stuck it out anyway for a half-day of South Florida Everglades bass fishing. I tried to convince them to come out later in the day when the bite really turns on but I couldn't change there mind. As we started to get ready to pack the day up the fishing was getting red hot but so were their headaches. We boated about 8 bass up to 3 pounds but the bigger ones were getting ready to eat anytime. Next time guys will get the time right! For more bass fishing information on South Florida check this website at http://www.southfloridafishing.org/ or e-mail me for current bass fishing reports at floridafishing@bellsouth.net .

South Florida Everglades bass fishing is getting red hot right now. Today I had Brent Hill from Nashville pitching senkos and Gambler Giggy heads in the canals and boating over 40 bass up to 6 lbs. With the water heating up and water levels starting to drop the largemouth bass fishing is improving daily. It's time to think about booking a bass or peacock bass trip to South Florida before all the rain starts and floods the marshes. South Florida Bass Fishing 2-24-08

Bass fishing in the South Florida Everglades is getting better daily. With the water levels being lowered for hurricane season the bass get flushed out of the marshes into the canals making them easily excessible. Topwater baits and senko style plastics are the baits I love to catch these fish on. I make a lot of homemade baits which is really a thrill to catch my fish with because I know nobody else has the same baits! Then today we were in West Palm Beach canals and boated 7 bass in a half-day to 4 lbs. The spawn is in full swing during full oon cycles so the bass fishing can be tricky. The water levels are coming down which means the bass fishing is getting better by the day. With water temperatures rising and water levels dropping that means only great bass fishing to for South Florida anglers. Here a few pictures from the other days trip.
