South Florida Peacock Bass
Peacock bass fishing in South Florida is awesome this week as my customer ray Rubio of Philedelphia can attest after two days of bass fishing. On day one we went to Miami and fishing for Peacock Bass with Ray Sr. & Ray Jr. and the three of us landed 42 Peacock Bass up to 8 lbs. Ray Jr. caught a 5 lb. beauty and this nice 8 lb. fish. The state record is just over 10 lbs. On day two Ray Jr. and I fished on the lake Ida chain of ;lakes in Palm Beach county and caught somewhere around 100 largemouth bass up to 4 lbs. What a great way to start of the fall season here in South Florida.

Florida Everglades Bass Fishing (January 2011)

I can't believe what an incredible spring bass fishing season we've had so far. This month I've had multiple largemouth bass fishing trips to the Florida Everglades & Lake Okeechobee with great success. Each half-day trip has exceeded 40 largemouth or more and a few days we've caught near 75. This is an example of the nice fish the Florida Everglades has to offer. She weighed in at 7 lbs. but my fishing buddy Jonathan lost one even bigger. With warmer water just around the corner bass fishing is only going to improve.

South Florida Everglades Bass Fishing

Here's another 5 lb. largemouth from the Florida Everglades system. We've seen a big improvement over the last couple weeks in the fishing and the weather. Cold night time temperatures have impacted the peacock bass fishing and largemouth fishing in all of South Florida. We had multiple fish kills of peacock bass, cichlids, snook and tarpon everywhere. But the Miami area and the canals of Ft. Lauderdale are fine and still producing quite well.

South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing

Jim Boone from Birmingham, Alabama and I were out peacock bass fishing on Friday. This time of year peacock bass fishing can be good or bad but lately is been great. Water levels and temperatures can be tricky because peacock bass love hot water. It really depends on how hot the South Florida weather is. Today we just had a cold front come through dropping the nighttime temperatures into the low 50's. It usually only takes a few days for these fish to start biting again. Mr. Boone landed 13 peacock bass in a half-day trip up to 4 3/4 lbs. all on live bait. South Florida Bass Fishing 5-27-08

South Florida bass fishing for numbers is no better anywhere! The Everglades catch rate they say is 1.4 bass per hour. How does 12 or 13 per hour sound! That's the average we had on Tuesday May 27th landing 64 bass in just 5 hours plus many more missed. The Ft. Lauderdale area for largemouth bass between March and July is the best on the planet for total numbers of largemouth bass caught. The peacock bass fishing is also great as the water gets hotter like is right now. For more South Florida Bass fishing information click on these two links, Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing.

South Florida Everglades Bass Fishing Reports 4-15-08

They are still biting in the Florida Everglades. Yesterday evening we were out for 4 short hours until the temperatures dropped to the high 50's in April? This is very unusual for this time of year. But despite cooler temperatures the bass are still hitting quite well. In less than 4 hours we boated 22 bass up to 3 lbs. and missed quite a few as well. The water is still high and will remain that way because with Lake Okeechobee being too low the water management department hasn't the nerve to lower the Everglades. Largemouth bass fishing remains good in a few certain areas and knowing where is the secret along with only a few baits working with any consistancy.

South Florida Everglades bass fishing is getting red hot right now. Today I had Brent Hill from Nashville pitching senkos and Gambler Giggy heads in the canals and boating over 40 bass up to 6 lbs. With the water heating up and water levels starting to drop the largemouth bass fishing is improving daily. It's time to think about booking a bass or peacock bass trip to South Florida before all the rain starts and floods the marshes. South Florida Bass Fishing 3-19-08

We decided to try Lake Okeechobee last week for the first time since hurricane Wilma struck in 2005. We headed south from Clewiston fishing the rim canal around Ritta Island and worked our way back. Together Mike Greico and I boated 15 largemouth bass up to four pounds. Mike and I both missed bigger fish at the side of the boat. South Florida Peacock & Bass Fishing Reports 12-4-07

Today we were out trying out some new canals we've never fished before for Peacock Bass. With a little cold front coming through this morning the Peacock Bass were tough in the morning. As the day went by though the Peacock Bass became active and the pictures show the day we had. We managed 12 nice Peacock Bass up to 5 lbs. Not bad for our first time on this different system. All of these fish were caught with rattletraps in very shallow water. This warm weather is improving our Peacock Bass and Largemouth Bass fishing from Lake Okeechobee all the way to South Florida in the Everglades for Bass. Most the Peacock Bass fishing in Florida is done in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area lakes and canals. For more information and interesting websites check out the right side blog roll.

South Florida Bass Fishing reports 11-29-07

Richard Hart and his friend from London,England Ray were out for 2 days of Peacock Bass fishing in Miami. For 2 days they boated 44 peacock bass up to 4 lbs. Most of these Peacocks were caught on shiners and rattletraps. Richard has been down twice now and is looking forward to an Amazon trip for monster Peacock Bass in Brazil. This picture of Richard is after he fell over the seat fighting this Peacock. The bass fishing in the South Florida Everglades is starting to get good on the flats but you must cover water. The bass will chase surface frogs and flappin shad type baits fished fast. Check some of our other favorite websites in the right side toolbar for more information on bass fishing or peacock bass fishing in South Florida or the Amazon River in Brazil for monster Peacock Bass.
