Florida Peacock Bass Fishing

South Florida is the only place to catch largemouth bass and peacock bass from some of the same waters. This week Jake Bussolini from North Carolina and his brother-in-law from Chicago landed only ten peacock bass but they were quality fish with Ron boating a nice 4 lber. As our weather warms up now the peacock fishing will improve dramatically. Florida Everglades Bass Fishing

South Florida Everglades largemouth bass fishing has been nothing short of outstanding for numbers. Each trip will usually boat you about 75 to 100 largemouth bass. Most of these are on the small size with the occassional big female. Cold water fluctuations have caused the bigger fish to be alittle skittish but that should change any day now. South Florida Peacock Bass

Fishing in South Florida canals for largemouth bass and peacock bass remains good despite these cold days we've been having. Nighttime temperatures have been dropping into the high 30's. Peacock Bass usually do much better in warm to hot weather but as you can see by these last two posts fishing remains great. Mike Kenny landed this nice 5 lb. fish on January 2nd to start off his new year nicely. We landed about 25 peacocks for the days. We can be reached with up to date information about fishing in the Miami or Ft. Lauderdale areas at floridafishing@bellsouth.net or by the phone number listed on this page.

South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing

Jonathan Johnson and I spent a few days peacock bass fishing in the Miami canals last week. We had a nice time boated about 12 to 15 fish each day. Jonathan is so passionate about peacock bass he has one an aquarium at home in Ohio. Each fish Jonathan caught was either on a jig or topwater. The hotter the water the better this specie will bite. Springtime is the best time for getting big fish because they spawn for a few months in water less than two fish deep. If you are heading to South Florida's Ft. Lauderdale or Miami area give us a call to arrange how you can catch these beautiful butterfly peacock bass or largemouth bass on the wonderful Lake Okeechobee or the Everglades.

South Florida Everglades Bass Fishing

It's been hot but far out on alligator alley of the South Florida Everglades you can still catch some largemouth bass if you can handle the heat. We fished for about five hours last week and landed about twelve largemouth up to 5 lbs. I had to work for them but patience paid off with this nice beauty. South Florida is usually difficult for catching any substantial size or quantity of fish this time of year because of high and hot water with low in oxygen. We've had rain but the water management has been able to keep water levels consistant which helps bass fishing. If you're planning a bass or peacock bass fishing trip to South Florida now's the time because it should only get better if we don't experince any major tropical weather systems. Our winter pattern usually begins in November.

South Florida Bass Fishing

The Everglades largemouth bass fishing is heating up lately with big numbers of fish being caught with a a large fish once in awhile. On Saturday we were out at Sawgrass Park and boated well over 100 bass but mostly all were small. Today out in the Everglades again we boated only 30 fish on the small side except for this monster caught by Mike Greico a long time customer of http://www.southfloridafishing.org/ . South Florida Bass Fishing

The last few weeks of largemouth bass fishing in South Florida has been good considering the cooler weather we've been having. On Tuesday Dec. 9, we were fishing alligator alley and boated about 70 bass mostly on the small side but definately fun. Each time out we've been able to catch fish upwards of 5 lbs. though. Every fish we caught happened to be on plastic worms and homemade worms that I mold. As the water continues to drop along with these cooler water temperatures should drive bass towards spawning. The fun of fishing South Florida is coming early this year and it should be fantastic starting any day now. South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing

Jim Boone from Birmingham, Alabama and I were out peacock bass fishing on Friday. This time of year peacock bass fishing can be good or bad but lately is been great. Water levels and temperatures can be tricky because peacock bass love hot water. It really depends on how hot the South Florida weather is. Today we just had a cold front come through dropping the nighttime temperatures into the low 50's. It usually only takes a few days for these fish to start biting again. Mr. Boone landed 13 peacock bass in a half-day trip up to 4 3/4 lbs. all on live bait. For booking a trip with South Florida Fishing Adventures or questions about our guide service e-mail me at floridafishing@bellsouth.net or give us a call at (954) 445-1811.

South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing 11-2-08

Peacock bass fishing this week in South Florida has been good considering the colder weather we've had. On Wednesday night it dropped down into the low 50's which peacock bass don't like. Water temperatures below 60 degrees will kill peacocks. Carl Gaudins and I were out on Saturday and we boated 7 peacock bass up to 4 lbs. We noticed a couple big male fish courting females, which is unusual at this time of the year. For more information e-mail us at floridafishing@bellsouth.net for largemouth bass fishing or peacock bass guided trips.

South Florida Peacock Bass 10-25-08

Peacock Bass fishing in South Florida is picking up and should stay good now that the rainy season is ending. On Saturday we had a guide trip in the C-100 canal of south Miami and landed 12 nice fish with two over 4 lbs. Water levels are dropping and cleaning up meaning fishing will continue to improve. Lake Okeechobee water levels are up which will help make for a great winter bass fishing season on the lake. The Everglades bass fishing is still tough in certain areas and better in others. Experimenting by trying different conservation areas will help you locate the best spots. South Florida Bass Fishing 4-25-08

Bass fishing in the Florida everglades is still hot and getting better daily. Water levels are dropping and the largemouth are coming out to the drop-offs and edges. Patience and wind or clouds will increase your chances for big fish and numbers. We caught 45 bass to 4 lbs. Wednesday April 23rd all on plastic baits out on alligator alley.

South Florida Everglades bass fishing is getting red hot right now. Today I had Brent Hill from Nashville pitching senkos and Gambler Giggy heads in the canals and boating over 40 bass up to 6 lbs. With the water heating up and water levels starting to drop the largemouth bass fishing is improving daily. It's time to think about booking a bass or peacock bass trip to South Florida before all the rain starts and floods the marshes.
