South Florida Peacock Bass

Despite the minor fish kill in South Florida lately on some different cichlid species the peacock bass seemed to have faired o'kay. On Thurday January 28, Marcia and George Darnell from Coral Gables landed about 26 peacock bass and a few small largemouth up to 4 lbs. all on shiners. I'm quite sure the spring spawn will produce well this year and I would book early if you're interested in catching the part of the season. E-mail us for further questions about largemouth bass fishing the Florida Everglades or canal fishing for peacock bass in South Miami. South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing

Fishing for peacock bass in South Florida in July & August has been wonderful despite unbearable hot air and water temperatures. The rain has also dirtied up the canals in most places but it usually only lasts about two to three days. Yesterday in Miami we had a trip with Scott Eynon and his son Steven. The guys landed 16 peacock bass in about 6 hours of fishing, that's real good for this time of year. Scott missed a real big one! For information on Everglades bass fishing or Lake Okeechobee contact us by e-mail at floridafishing@bellsouth.net . Peacock bass fishing should stay good through out the summer and we guide full-time everyday. Call us also at (954) 445-1811.

South Florida Peacock Bass 7-24-08

It continues to be awesome fishing for peacock bass in South Florida this week. We were out twice on Tuesday and Thursday. Ed Cohn and I were in South Miami for a half-day fishing before thunderstorms chased us off the water, but before heading home Ed had boated 12 peacock bass up to 4 1/4 lbs. for his first time ever peacock fishing. Every fish Ed caught was on small shiners and I boated one on a lure. For more information on South Florida peacock bass fishing e-mail me at floridafishing@bellsouth.net . South Florida Peacock Bass 7-1-08

It's still good fishing for South Florida Peacock Bass in Miami this week. Today Dan Paszynski and I were out in Miami and boated 26 peacocks with nice 5 1/2 lb. trophy that Dan caught. He also boated two more over 4 lbs. to make this an awesome day indeed! Dan caught all his fish on shiners while I used jigs. It's raining heavily now almost daily which good hinder fishing if they continue to pump the canals to much. But for now book a trip to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami and enjoy the only place in the U.S. to catch these beautiful butterfly peacock bass. We also guide in the Florida Everglades and Lake Okeechobee for largemouth bass. For information on any of these trips contact South Florida Fishing Adventures or Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing. We can be reached by e-mail at floridafishing@bellsouth.net or by phone at (954) 445-1811.

South Florida Bass Fishing 6-9-08

Jim Kientzy and his brother-in-law Dwayne were out on Monday in the South Florida Everglades bass fishing with us. The guys landed 45 largemouth bass up to 3 lbs. That's small for this time of year but the rain has finally come and has slowed the bass fishing down somewhat now. Each year the process repeats itself like clock work. On Friday night June 13th a night tournament out of Holiday Park was won with only 22 pounds, we usually can catch that in the daytime! After that weight the bags went way down which is quite unusual for night fishing for bass in the South Florida Everglades. South Florida Peacock Bass

Lowell and I tried snapper creek canal system today which connects tothe C-4 Miami airport system. It's also loaded with great fishing for both peacock bass & largemouth bass, snook and tarpon. Over two days of peacock bass fishing Mr. Shapley had a blast landing 57 peacocks himself with me only 10? He is a taxidermist mostly mounting birds but I think he's considering other ideas now after his trophy 5 lber he caught the day before! Here's a great picture of a double hook up we had yesterday. Check out South Florida Fishing Adventures and Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing Florida for booking and other fishing reports on fishing in South Florida.

South Florida Bass Fishing Report 5-13-08

Today we were out in the South Florida Everglades bass fishing. Yesterday a mild spring cold front came in with high winds which is causing many wild fires through out Florida. But today the wind was low and no clouds either to put a chop on the water which made fishing slightly tougher. We still managed to land 33 bass up to 4 pounds. The bait of choice is still plastic style lures. We can't tell anybody exactly what we are using because of a certain guide service who likes to copy everything we do! We've changed the look of the web blog home page to not be copied again. Anyway if largemouth bass or peacock bass fishing interests you click on any of our websites in the side blogroll to the lower right. The canals in the South Florida Everglades right now are producing quite well and should continue for the next month or so.

South Florida Bass Fishing 4-25-08

Bass fishing in the Florida everglades is still hot and getting better daily. Water levels are dropping and the largemouth are coming out to the drop-offs and edges. Patience and wind or clouds will increase your chances for big fish and numbers. We caught 45 bass to 4 lbs. Wednesday April 23rd all on plastic baits out on alligator alley.
