South Florida Bass Fishing 5-27-08

South Florida bass fishing for numbers is no better anywhere! The Everglades catch rate they say is 1.4 bass per hour. How does 12 or 13 per hour sound! That's the average we had on Tuesday May 27th landing 64 bass in just 5 hours plus many more missed. The Ft. Lauderdale area for largemouth bass between March and July is the best on the planet for total numbers of largemouth bass caught. The peacock bass fishing is also great as the water gets hotter like is right now. For more South Florida Bass fishing information click on these two links, Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing.

South Florida Bass Fishing 5-20-08

It's still great fishing in the South Florida Everglades this week. Today we were out somewhere in the everglades catching fish on artificial lures and not shiners. It was 76 largemouth bass with the biggest on the small side today and only about 2 1/2 lbs. We seen many larger fish swirl up on our lures but turn away at the last minute. The key is very long casts but with the wind blowing 25 mph all day that made it difficult. If we caught every bass we saw today I'm estimating upwards of 150 or more bass. It's fantastic right now and I haven't even tried shiners yet like some others I know, because that's all they can catch them on. Water levels are still dropping and heating up which should get the night fishing going real good also. South Florida Bass Fishing Report 5-13-08

Today we were out in the South Florida Everglades bass fishing. Yesterday a mild spring cold front came in with high winds which is causing many wild fires through out Florida. But today the wind was low and no clouds either to put a chop on the water which made fishing slightly tougher. We still managed to land 33 bass up to 4 pounds. The bait of choice is still plastic style lures. We can't tell anybody exactly what we are using because of a certain guide service who likes to copy everything we do! We've changed the look of the web blog home page to not be copied again. Anyway if largemouth bass or peacock bass fishing interests you click on any of our websites in the side blogroll to the lower right. The canals in the South Florida Everglades right now are producing quite well and should continue for the next month or so.

South Florida Peacock Bass Report 5-7-08

Greg Plano and friend Ken from the University of Miami professor department were out with me yesterday in Miami for Peacock bass for a half-day. We landed 15 peacocks in a few hours before the heat was too intense. Here is a nice picture of a double the guys boated. They used shiners to catch all their fish in Miami. With the water levels coming down because of very little rain the fishing in the Miami & Ft. Lauderdale canals for largemouth bass and peacock bass with continue to be great.

South Florida Bass Fishing Reports 5-7-08

We've been out in the South Florida everglades and Miami for largemouth bass & peacock bass three times this week. On Saturday in the everglades we caught over 60 bass up to 3 3/4 lbs. and in Miami the peacock bass fishing is great. Yesterday we boated 15 peacocks up to 3 lbs. on a half-day trip. As the water heats up the levels will drop which creates even better bass fishing in the everglades. Peacock bass fishing should stay good until the late summer rains cause some oxygen problems.
